Marisa Velasco
Last seen in Norcross, Georgia on December 17, 2005
Vital statistics: Hispanic female. Born on July 21, 2004. Black hair, brown eyes. Was one at the time.
Circumstances: She was abducted by her non-custodial mother, Rena Velasco. Photos and vital statistics for her are not available. At the time Marisa was in foster care because of concerns that her mother and her boyfriend, Vidal Cruz, posed a risk to her. Marisa had an unsupervised visit with her mother at the battered-woman's shelter she lived in at the time. Rena Velasco asked a resident there to drop them off at a medical clinic. The resident did so but Marisa was never returned from the visit. After they had vanished it was discovered that Vidal Cruz had also vacated his apartment and told a neighbor he was returning to Mexico. He may be traveling with them. A felony warrant for kidnapping is on file for her. They are believed to be traveling with a male child.
If you have any information as to Marisa's whereabouts, please contact the Gwinnett County Police Department at 770-513-5100. Any information received can be kept confidential.
