Were the parents abusing her? And if so is it possible that they killed her but never got caught?

This sounds fake. How was the brother caught but not Helen? How did it possibly take almost 50 years to figure out she was dead, some Jane Doe laying in an unmarked grave? Was nobody looking for this girl at all for almost 50 years? She should be a grandmother now, but apparently she was never really lost to begin with or nobody cared what became of her. Even if Helen was killed it should have never taken nearly 50 years to uncover her fate. Where was this loving concerned family when Helen needed help?

Helen is deceased. Her remains were located and identified thanks to a several years long campaign of kind people (helped for free). Helen’s surviving family has so far not shared any details as to how, where, and when Helen died or how she was discovered. It is of course their choice but I am also curious. The most important thing is that Helen isn’t missing or lost anymore.
