It’s going to be real hard to find someone whose murderer died a year later without revealing all the details and had previously admitted to burning the remains to unrecognizable scraps. The good doctor and his father took the secrets of what all went on to the grave with them. I cannot imagine how much Arthur’s mother must suffer seeing her little boy’s face here and knowing he’s never coming home to her again.

I don’t see how it’s worse seeing his picture here than his murder itself.

That’s easy. She watched helplessly while he was beaten to death and certainly it wasn’t a pretty sight. Now to see him some 40 years later, well groomed and smiling on the day on the joyous occasion of his First Holy Communion would be a knife through the heart. Naturally this is the little boy these sites imply will one day return home to her and of course she wants that fantasy very much, but knows it will never be. She was robbed of her son until the end of time in 1977 and nobody can give him back.

His mother is dead, I believe, and if that’s the case there’s no possible way she could be traumatized by his picture.
