The father was removed from the home in Barcelona, Spain by police for substantiated Domestic Violence. Custody of the daughters, who are also Spanish Citizens, was allotted to their Spanish mother in 2012 by Spanish courts in proceedings the American father was aware of. The American father was not granted any communication or visitation due to risk of harm and was ordered to pay child support of 720 Euros per month for the education and expenses of his daughters, but refused to support his Spanish daughters.

These children are being concealed by their mother from their father. The child support is just a way to extort money out of the father.

The American father owes his Spanish daughters financial support whether or not he is granted communication and he knows precisely where in Barcelona they reside with their mother and maternal family. He lied to American courts and also tried to lie to Spanish courts to avoid paying Child Support with fake DNA tests. You do not know what this Spanish mother and her daughters have suffered from the American father/ex-husband. The Spanish courts have protected these Spanish-American Citizen children, not hidden them, but I would not expect a xenophobic American to understand. If you understand some Spanish I advise you to do your research, Celeste, before you criticize and judge based on only one very biased side of the story. Others besides Americans also have rights and children with a dual citizenship have rights to be protected by their 2nd homeland, if the American courts fail to protect their best interests.

I am related to these children and we miss them here in the states. I have known John all my life and he practically raised me. There were never any instances where he ever treated his family in a terrible way such as MIREIA MARTI PARDO describes in the article Anonymous posted. I knew Mireia well and she did share trouble in their relationship but never anything this extreme…. She did once tell me about how women she knew would put a rock in a sock and hit oneself to accuse a former partner of abuse.
From what I have seen in this case she lured him back to Spain because they were all legal US citizens. Ironically this happened just after they arrived in Mataro for a visit around the holidays.

We haven’t been able to see these Thanit and Athena since this happened and we love them and miss them.

If there are more articles, stories, URL’s, blogs, or anything else concerning this tragedy, it would be kind of Anonymous, Celeste, or whomever to share this information. The children have been kidnapped by the mother and the Father artfully slandered.

Domestic Violence is a very serious matter, particularly substantiated abuse(ie: police are called, see women and children are terrorized, and remove the man from the home), and the children must be protected by law from a dangerous situation regardless of nationality or the desires of the parents. Both children are Spanish/European Union Citizens as well as US Citizens by having a Spanish mother, their American father was arrested for abusing their Spanish mother in Spain, and Spanish courts have decided it is unsafe for the children to return to the United States especially when they would be under the sole authority of the person who was arrested for committing domestic violences in the presence of the children and deprived of their Spanish mother without reason by biased American courts. It is not gossip that the American father was arrested for abusing his Spanish wife and endangering his American Spanish daughters in Barcelona in front of multiple witnesses. Could you imagine the outrage if dual citizen children born in Spain to an American mother and Spanish father witnessed their father abuse their mother while on holiday to Massachusetts, remained in Massachusetts with their American mother to live in the safety of a healthy environment, and were denied the protection of Massachusetts courts and deported by force to Spain to the abusive father they do not know? Others besides Americans have rights and the American father must respect Spanish laws and prove himself a fit parent there, not in Massachussets.

Understand this, the father filed for divorce from the mother in Barnstable court in 2009. Look it up, it is public. The mother participated in a 6 year long divorce in the U.S, where homeland security documents proved they were all living in the U S. She was convicted of contempt of court for lying about where they lived and the stories she told about violence were also proven untrue. In response to Anonymous, domestic violence is unacceptatable and quite serious. Lying about it is crazy and damaging to those actually dealing with it. These children should be returned to their father immediately and the mother should get some psychiatric help. She has sabotaged the mental health of her daughters. The father is not abusive and is actually a really good father and husband.
